Smart Skills Development Hub aims to empower individuals by prioritizing the development of smart skills, enabling them to adapt, innovate, and lead in a digital and sustainable future. The very concept of smart skills includes a variety of competencies that are necessary for navigating the complex requirements of the modern labor market. These skills are Sustainable, Multidimensional, Adaptive, Resilient and Transversal. Through targeted awareness-raising events and educational activities, the Hub intends to enhance, above all, green, digital and entrepreneurial competencies of adults. Our initiatives also focus on improving transversal skills and key competencies for lifelong learning.

We are prioritizing the well-being of both people and the planet by ensuring that resources are used efficiently and equitably, while also safeguarding future generations. Accordingly, we emphasize the importance of preserving energy, reducing waste, reusing resources, and designing systems that regenerate rather than deplete, hence promoting a culture of responsibility and collaboration. The Hub intends to promote women’s economic empowerment and improve the role and importance of women in society through lifelong learning. Moreover, we strive to provide educational opportunities for the low-skilled, the long-term unemployed and other vulnerable groups in society. In addition, our programs seek to establish frameworks for intergenerational synergy and knowledge transfer.
Discussing the Advantages and Ethical Implications of Using AI in Adult Education
Our commitment extends beyond education. We engage in meaningful discussions about the role of information and communication technology (ICT) in the context of lifelong learning and adult education, with a particular focus on the ethical implications of artificial intelligence. Namely, Smart Skills Development Hub develops awareness-raising and educational materials by using the advantages of Generative AI tools, whilst taking into account the ethical context of the use of such digital aids. We understand that navigating these technologies is essential for shaping the future of education and skill development.
